The 16 teams that played in the annual Power of Pink volleyball tournament hosted by Queensbury Union Free School District raised more than $55,000 for The Side-Out Foundation’s Dig Pink initiative.

Every $2,000 raised through the Power of Pink allows The Side-Out Foundation to provide an unprecedented analysis to metastatic breast cancer patients and their oncologists. This unique analysis ranks treatment solutions and clinical trials for each patient that can substantially improve the length and quality of their life, according to The Side-Out website.

Over the last decade or so, New York volleyball teams and coaches have made POP the largest fundraising tournament supporting the Side-Out Foundation, according to the website.

“Special thanks to Laura Laramie and Tyler Carey for helping so much and making sure everything ran so smoothly!” said Kristen Murphy, who organized the event. “I am grateful to the support of our Athletic Department, building custodial staff and community for making this a yearly accomplishment.”
