Queensbury High School has announced the top 10 students of the Class of 2026. The top 10 students include: Chloe Zhao, Ruby Janssen, Marina Muldner, Hannah Scherer, Ryan Greenstein, Mia Afsar-Keshmiri, Sarah Vittengl, Caitlin Scott, Josh Jenkin and Brooke Anderson.
The students were honored with a breakfast on Friday, Oct. 17 in the Queensbury Room.
“I can tell this is the most remarkable group we’ve had in a long time, just by looking at all of you, watching what you’ve done through your educational careers,” said Superintendent of Schools Kyle Gannon. “You should be proud today. You should be proud of yourselves. You should take a second to say, ‘I did it.’”
He and the other administrators encouraged the high-achieving seniors to enjoy the rest of their senior year.
“Sometimes we run through life like we run through the airport … versus enjoying life as if you’re walking through a museum and taking in what is around you,” said QHS Assistant Principal John Martin. “You guys have this really finite amount of time. Your hourglass is tipped; the sand is running out on your time at Queensbury High School.”
He implored the students to enjoy conversations and moments with family and friends.
Assistant Superintendent Gwynne Cosh shared some advice she received from her sister during her senior year.
“When you say ‘yes’ to something, you’re saying ‘no’ to something else,” Cosh said. “I know a lot of you said ‘no’ to things because you were saying ‘yes’ to your education, ‘yes’ to your hard work and dedication to your sports and athletics, and you said ‘no’ to a lot of fun things you could have done. Start saying ‘yes’ to some of the ‘no’s,’ because you deserve it.”
