Twelve of the fall sports teams at Queensbury High School have been named 2025 Scholar-Athlete teams, and 153 Spartans have been individually given Scholar-Athlete status.

A total of 4,148 teams earned Scholar Athlete recognition this fall, and 53,814 individual student-athletes achieved Scholar-Athlete status by earning an academic average of 90 or above for the marking period.

To qualify as a Scholar-Athlete team, the average of 75% of the roster must be 90.00 or higher for the marking period. Teams that qualify receive a Scholar-Athlete certificate while individual students earning the distinction receive pins to celebrate their accomplishments.

“The Scholar-Athlete program remains one of the most meaningful recognitions we provide as an Association,” said Dr. Robert Zayas, NYSPHSAA executive director. “The dedication shown by these student-athletes, balancing rigorous academic responsibilities with their commitments to interscholastic athletics, is truly remarkable.”

The Scholar-Athlete Program, now in its 33rd year, continues to emphasize the role of academic excellence within education-based athletics.
