The Queensbury Union Free School District Snack Pack Program is in desperate need of items to help feed Queensbury families on weekends and over the upcoming school breaks.
Through the Snack Pack Program, nearly 250 Queensbury students take bags of food home containing items to sustain them over the weekend. The program is completely funded by donations and administered by volunteers who pack the bags.
“We are in desperate need of food,” said Superintendent of Schools Kyle Gannon. “Our resources are getting very low.”
The Snack Pack program welcomes any donations, but is specifically in need of: boxes of cereal, jelly (in a plastic container), and pasta and sauce. Other items needed include: oatmeal packets, Chewy granola bars, mac & cheese cups, mac & cheese boxes, Nutri Grain Bars, individually wrapped snacks, ramen noodles, tuna fish, and peanut butter (in a plastic container).
Donations can also be made through the program’s Amazon Wish List, which is delivered directly to campus. Checks can be made payable “QUFSD Snack Pack Program” and sent to QUFSD Business Office, 429 Aviation Road, Queensbury, NY 12804.
