Queensbury Union Free School District will present a Spartan Strong Minds - Celebrating Wellness event from 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 19 on campus.
The family-friendly event will celebrate wellness with food, giveaways, community outreach agencies and hands-on activities. The event is open to all Queensbury families.
“Wellness is central to our school community,” said Christine Delaney, director of Social and Emotional Learning and UPK. “We are dedicated to supporting every student and family and connecting them with reliable community resources that can help meet their needs.”
The evening will feature community partners including WAIT House, Queensbury Parks and Recreation, Southern Adirondack Independent Living, the Council for Prevention, Behavioral Health Services North (BHSN), AHI Health Home, Living Resources Day Community Opportunities Program (DCOP), Well Child Pediatric Psychiatric Services, Hudson Headwaters Health Network, Northern Rivers Mobile Crisis, Warren County Public Health, Warren-Washington C.A.R.E. Center, Upstate NY Poison Center, Mediation Matters, and Glens Falls Family Services. Grounded on Glen Street/The Mobile Meditation Studio will be set up in front of the high school. Go Kids will offer hands-on activities for children.
The wellness event will take place in the Queensbury High School lobby and in the Queensbury Elementary School cafeteria.
