Queensbury High School Musical’s production of “The Addams Family: School Edition” has earned three High School Musical Theatre Award nominations for Outstanding Choreography Execution, Outstanding Ensemble and Outstanding Musical.

Three Queensbury students also received callbacks for Outstanding Lead Performer. Adam Spero, who played Gomez Addams, Delaney Sano, who played Wednesday Addams, and Nick Merzig, who played Fester Addams, will audition on April 18 with 17 other students in hopes of earning a top 10 nomination. The two winners of that category will join students from across the country to participate in the 17th Annual National High School Musical Theatre Awards (The Jimmys) on June 22 in New York City.

“We are incredibly proud and honored to have ‘The Addams Family’ recognized with three nominations and three callbacks for the HSMTA,” said director Andrew Terry. “This production has been a true team effort, filled with dedication, creativity, and passion from our entire cast and crew. We are so excited to celebrate this achievement together and share this moment with our school and community.”

The cast of “The Addams Family: School Edition” will perform the song “When You’re an Addams” on the historic MainStage at Proctors during the awards show at 7 p.m. May 16 in Schenectady.

This year’s awards marks a decade of spotlighting the incredible talent and artistry of local high school theatre. The High School Musical Theatre Awards will feature a host for the very first time, welcoming Broadway performer, actor, musician, choreographer and producer Apollo Levine to the stage.

Tickets for the 10th Annual High School Musical Theatre Awards will go on sale April 17 through the Box Office at Proctors in person, via phone at (518) 346-6204 Tuesday-Saturday 12-6 p.m., or online by visiting atproctors.org.
