Daniel Mannix, the president of the Queensbury Union Free School District Board of Education, has been selected to receive the 2024 Excellence in School Board Service Award by the Capital Area School Development Association.
Mannix was nominated by Superintendent of Schools Kyle Gannon, who called Mannix a “tireless advocate” for the entire school community.
“Mr. Mannix has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the QUFSD mission statement by fostering educational excellence and enhancing the overall well-being of Queensbury students,” Gannon wrote in his nomination letter. “Serving on the board for the past 12 years, Mr. Mannix has exhibited exemplary leadership and fierce dedication to our district mission to empower all students to be lifelong learners, inspired to pursue their dreams and contribute to the global community.”
Mannix will be honored at the CASDA Annual Awards and Friends of Education Celebration at 6 p.m. April 25 at The Century House in Latham.
