The Queensbury Union Free School District Board of Education intends to appoint Gregory Rosenthal to the position of assistant principal of the William H. Barton Intermediate School.

Rosenthal is currently a high school social studies teacher at Greenwich Jr.-Sr. High School, where he has taught for the past four years. Before that, he was a high school teacher at Broome-Tioga BOCES from fall of 2019 until spring of 2021.

Rosenthal has a Bachelor of Arts degree from SUNY Cortland with a dual major in history and social studies education 7-12. He has a Master of Arts degree in curriculum development and instructional technology from SUNY Albany. He holds a certificate of advanced study in school building leadership from SUNY Plattsburgh.

Rosenthal said he is excited for the opportunity to work at Queensbury UFSD and build relationships with the WHBI students, staff and families.

“This is an incredible opportunity and experience for my family,” Rosenthal said. “I’m really excited to be here and to work with the faculty, staff and students at the William H. Barton Intermediate School.”

In his new role, Rosenthal will assist in maintaining an emotionally healthy and safe environment for all students and staff, collaborate with building leadership on instructional best practices, strategies and professional development needs, and will supervise and evaluate professional, paraprofessional and support personnel.

Amanda Denno, who will be the WHBI principal this fall, said she is thrilled for Rosenthal to join the WHBI team.

“Greg brings a high level of energy, a strong commitment to building positive relationships, and a genuine enthusiasm for working with students and staff,” Denno said. “I'm excited for all that he will bring to our school community and can’t wait to see the impact he’ll make at WHBI.”

A Lake George native, Rosenthal lives in Gansevoort with his wife, Taylor, and they are expecting their first child this month. He will assume the WHBI assistant principal role beginning Aug. 18, 2025.
