Building Use Procedure
The Board of Education recognizes that school buildings, grounds, pool and turf are valuable community resources that should be available for specific uses, to the extent that such uses will not interfere with School District activities. The links below provide information on the terms and conditions of such use, as well as the procedures for reserving QUFSD facilities.
Fee schedule: Please review the fee schedule link before accessing ML Schedules by clicking here
Note: Pursuant to our Board of Education Policy, only nonprofit organizations are permitted to use the school district’s facilities. Organizations are required to submit a W9 to show nonprofit along with a certificate of insurance listing Queensbury Union Free School District, 429 Aviation Road, Queensbury, N.Y. 12804, as an additional insured.
ML Schedules: QUFSD uses ML Schedules (click here to access) , an online request system, for all facility requests. You will need to create an account in ML Schedules in order to request the use of a district facility. It will require a name, address, and phone number of the group (or individual) and if required as set forth in the fee schedule, a certificate of insurance.
Please read our policies for the full description of approved and prohibited uses.

Annual notifications
Pesticide use
New York State education law requires schools to notify the school community that pesticide products may be used during the school year. Parents/guardians and staff members may request 48-hour advance written notification of certain pesticide applications. If an emergency application is necessary to protect against an imminent threat to human health, a good faith effort will be made to supply written notification to those on the notification list.

Asbestos management plan
In accordance with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act by clicking here (AHERA) of 1987 (40 CFR Part 763), the district conducts periodic asbestos surveillance and a required triennial inspection. Asbestos projects shall be conducted according to all applicable local, state and federal regulations.
The Asbestos Management Plan for each building is available for review during normal business hours at the maintenance office. For more information, please contact the Asbestos Designee at (518) 824-5671.
Lead testing
In September 2016, a state law went into effect that requires all public school districts in New York to test water for lead. The law requires school districts to sample all water outlets currently or potentially used for drinking or cooking purposes in buildings that may be occupied by students and to submit those samples to a state-approved lab for analysis. Regulations called for testing to take place in 2020 and every five years thereafter, unless the state Commissioner of Health required testing sooner. Water samples throughout the district were taken in 2020. The next round of samples had to be completed by 2025.
The state established an action level of 5 micrograms of lead per liter, typically referred to as “parts per billion (ppb).” If a sample from a water outlet exceeds this level, schools must take steps to prevent the use of the outlet for drinking or cooking purposes until it is remediated and follow-up testing confirms it is no longer above the action level.
School districts are required to report the results of all water testing to the state Department of Health, the state Education Department and the local health department and to post the results—along with remediation plans, if required—on the official district website.
