“Each of you has faced challenges over these middle school years,” McPartland said. “And yet, you showed up, you worked through it, you supported each other. That’s what real pride is made of — effort, resilience and character.”

He commended the students’ creativity, humor and curiosity.

“This ceremony marks the end of your middle school journey and begins the exciting adventure of the high school,” said Queensbury High School Principal Andrew Snide. “You’ve grown tremendously, not just in what you’ve learned, but how you’ve shown resilience, curiosity and heart.”

QHS senior Andrew Murray, vice president of the QHS Student Senate, used his personal story about finding his career path to encourage the eighth graders to try new classes and activities next year.

“You guys have so much time to try new things out, build a positive image of yourself, and find things that interest you,” Murray said. “There is no better way to do it than enrolling in classes, electives, sports and clubs that Queensbury offers.”
