Hundreds of students experienced the district’s first ever Art Walk on Tuesday, June 2, with a one-day outdoor art installation along the Queensbury Union Free School District’s cross country trails.
Queensbury art teachers Amy VanVranken and Caitlin Reeves spent the year developing the Art Walk, which they hope to turn into an annual event.
“This experience was designed to celebrate student creativity while encouraging students and staff from all grade levels to engage with art in a unique and immersive setting,” Reeves said.
The 30-minute Art Walk featured more than 60 visual art and ELA pieces.
“We had a wonderful time, enjoyed beautiful weather, and were grateful to see so many smiling faces sharing in the excitement of the day,” VanVranken said. “The turnout exceeded our expectations, and it was inspiring to see our school community come together to support student artists and writers.”
