Queensbury High School Principal Andrew Snide has been selected to receive the Sister Rose Aquin Caimano Distinguished Administrator Award by the New York State Association for Language Teachers.

This award is given annually to an administrator in New York State who has demonstrated exemplary support of world language education. Snide was nominated by QHS Spanish teacher Leah Grady, who provided compelling evidence to the NYSAFLT Awards Committee demonstrating Snide’s exemplary dedication, leadership and contributions to world language education.

Snide said he was honored to receive the prestigious award.

“This recognition is especially meaningful because it reflects the outstanding work of our world language teachers and the many students they serve every day,” Snide said. “I am lucky to work alongside such dedicated teachers who inspire a love of language and culture at Queensbury High School.”

Snide will be recognized at the NYSAFLT Annual Conference Awards Banquet in Albany on Oct. 16. During the banquet, highlights of Snide’s career and professional accomplishments will be shared with conference attendees from across the state and beyond. The NYSAFLT Annual Conference is one of the leading professional learning events for world language educators in the northeast, bringing together teachers, administrators, university faculty, and advocates for multilingualism and intercultural understanding.

The New York State Association for Language Teachers is a professional organization dedicated to supporting world language educators and promoting the study of languages and cultures throughout New York State.
