Students from the William H. Barton Intermediate School painted and hid Kindness Rocks on several public trails around Queensbury.
The Kindness Rocks Project is a school-wide effort to share kindness and WHBI Spartan pride throughout the community. With support from WHBI art teacher Jennifer Brewer, WHBI librarian Alicia Fazio and the Character Education Committee, students thoughtfully designed and decorated rocks with positive messages and colorful artwork.
These inspiring creations have been placed at popular local parks/trails including Hovey Pond, Meadowbrook Trail, Halfway Brook Trail and Hudson Pointe.
To make the experience even more engaging, the Character Education Committee created a community-wide scavenger hunt that invites both WHBI families and local residents to join in the fun.
“This project showcases our students’ creativity while encouraging a spirit of connection, kindness and community pride,” said WHBI Assistant Principal Margaret Lawrence.
