As a result of their exceptional feats at Shenendehowa High School in the New York State track and field qualifier meet this past Thursday and Friday (complete results), four student-athletes will represent Queensbury High School at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association outdoor track and field championships next weekend.
Senior Liam Davidson will compete in both the 3,200-meter run and 3,000-meter steeplechase events, and classmate Justice Affinito is scheduled to participate in the 100-meter dash. Ninth-grade hurdlers Pavel Ford (110 meters) and Adrianna Lum (100 meters) also earned berths via personal-best performances at the state qualifier. In last year's state meet, Davidson captured sixth in the Division 1 steeplechase and eighth overall with a 9:35.21 finish.
At Clifton Park, Davidson topped all Section 2 participants with a time of 9:35.19 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, and his 9:29.51 clocking at 3,200 meters was the fastest among Class B participants.
Affinito supplied the swiftest Class B time (11.21 seconds) in the 100-meter finals, while Ford (15.48 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles) and Lum (16.86 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles) each outperformed all Class B hurdlers in their respective races.
Middletown High School will host the 2025 track and field championships on Friday, June 13 and Saturday, June 14. For ticket information and the schedule of events, visit the NYSPHSAA outdoor track and field championships site (link).
