The Queensbury High School baseball team has been awarded the 2024-25 Team Academic Excellence Award from the American Baseball Coaches Association. This is the fourth year in a row that Queensbury baseball has been given the award.

The Team Academic Excellence Award goes to baseball teams that posted a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale for the cumulative 2024-25 academic year. QHS is one of more than 300 high school programs and more than 440 collegiate programs recognized with this year’s award, which is presented by Sports Attack.

Coaches were able to nominate their teams for the ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award following the conclusion of their spring semesters. The American Baseball Coaches Association has a long tradition of recognizing the achievements of baseball coaches and student-athletes.

Queensbury’s Athletic Director Richard Keys said Queensbury Union Free School District strives to provide a balanced education-based athletics program.

“We are extremely proud of our student-athletes, who worked hard to achieve the standards for this award and for earning scholar-athlete team status from the New York State Public High School Athletic Association,” Keys said. “The baseball team has a long tradition of achieving both athletic and academic success as well as serving our local community.”
