The Queensbury High School Chamber Orchestra traded classrooms for castles during a spring break trip to Walt Disney World.
While soaking up the magic of the parks, the students took part in an exciting, hands-on workshop through Disney Imagination Campus, where they recorded film music for “Frozen.”
The orchestra also performed live at the Waterside Stage in Disney Springs, bringing the magic full circle with a lively program of Disney and Pixar favorites.
Gregory Verheyn, K–12 Music Department chairperson and high school orchestra teacher, said the trip showcased the students’ high level of musical maturity and musicianship.
“Our orchestra was selected through a highly competitive audition and application process,” Verheyn said. “These dedicated student musicians had the opportunity to engage in authentic, real-world performance experiences. Creating connections between school and the professional world is central to this orchestra’s mission.”
