The Queensbury Board of Education intends to appoint Ryan Carpenter as the new assistant principal at Queensbury High School.

Carpenter is currently the athletic director at Hudson Falls Central School District. He is also the president of the Foothills Council and the Section 2 representative on the NYSPHSAA Student-Athlete Development Committee. He has taught health education and physical education at both Hudson Falls CSD and Johnsburg Central School District. 

Carpenter received his Bachelor of Science degree in physical education from SUNY Cortland and his Master of Science degree in health, physical education and recreation from Emporia State University. He holds a certificate of advanced study in school building leadership and district leadership from SUNY Plattsburgh.  

Carpenter said he is excited to take on this role at Queensbury High School. 

“I look forward to working closely with students, staff, families and community members while helping lead programs that contribute to a positive and successful school environment,” Carpenter said. “Queensbury has a strong reputation for athletics, academics, curriculum and community partnerships.” 

Queensbury High School Principal Andrew Snide said he is thrilled to welcome Carpenter to the Queensbury community.

He brings extensive experience supporting students through his work as Athletic Director at Hudson Falls, and we are excited to see the meaningful connections he will build with our students and school community,” Snide said.

Carpenter lives in Fort Edward with his fiancée. Carpenter will take on his new role on Aug.3.
