A Black Hawk helicopter will land on the Queensbury Union Free School District campus around 8:45 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 25 as part of the second annual Career and Technical Education (CTE) Day.
Queensbury seventh-grade students will get a chance to watch a Black Hawk helicopter land on campus. Sgt. Kolbi Seeley of the Army National Guard will be on campus for the day to talk to students about careers in the National Guard.
In addition, about 25 local business owners and tradespeople will set up stations to showcase their industries, share expertise and ignite students’ passion for hands-on careers. Hundreds of Queensbury middle and high school students will attend.
The tradespeople specialize in auto mechanics, sheetrocking, plumbing, heavy equipment, HVAC, culinary, sewing, stenography, flooring, roofing, information technology, siding and window installation, woodworking, accounting and bookkeeping, pipe fitting, nursing, video production, machinery and more.
